Kerala Rat (Rattus ranjiniae)



The Kerala Rat.

The Kerala Rat is currently listed as a vulnerable species (2003), and this particular species of rat is also endemic to India. The Kerala Rat was first reported in 1969 by Agrawal and Ghosal.

They are from the Muridae family of rats, belonging to the genus rattus. Rats of this genus are Old World Rats.

There has been very little research carried out on this particular species.
