Elvira Rat (Cremnomys elvira)



The Elvira Rat.

The Elvira Rat is currently listed as a vulnerable species (2003), and this particular species of rat is also endemic to India. The Elvira Rat was first reported in 1946 by Ellerman.

They are from the Muridae family of rats, belonging to the genus cremnomys. Rats of this genus are Indian Rock Rats.

There has been very little research carried out on this particular species.
